A giant train papercraft has been designed around Ghibli’s “Castle in the Sky.” One of the most memorable scenes of the film is now part of a craft that you can build yourself. Papercraft has always been a cathartic pastime. Really the only thing you need is scissors, paper and a little glue. But with this kit we’ve found on Sugoi Mart the only thing you’ll need is time.
The only problem I can foresee is that the instructions for the craft DO NOT come in English. So if you’re good at guessing steps with only images then I’d say give it a shot. Or maybe you have a Japanese reading friend who’s willing to come over and help.
Here’s a DIY paper craft figure set featuring the Train of Castle in the Sky from the Ghibli world. Create your own set of figures using the materials included! Size: 180 x 40 x 120 mm. Note: English instructions not included.
I also want to note that this thing is really tiny when you’re putting it together. If you want to check it out before you get it you can watch the YouTube video I found of someone building it.
The whole thing costs $90 so if you do get it you should probably be pretty confident in your crafting skills. You can check it out by clicking the link here.
